New Beginnings

Over the past few years Aspen Integrative Medicine has added new providers with passion, integrative skills, and a calling to serve the greater Flagstaff community. When the clinic’s founder Dr. Amber Belt moved to Kansas in 2022 to start a new journey, Dr. Paul Despres became a co-owner and commuted weekly to Flagstaff from Tempe, so the practice could continue to flourish. He was later followed by his wife, Dr. Alexandra Mele, as they made Flagstaff their home. In late September 2023, we added another amazing doc, Dr. Jamie Flanery, to our healthcare team.

Times change and seasons shift as we’ve continued to provide care under the healing umbrella Dr. Belt created. We’ve been in a transitional time since Dr. Belt left, but it is now time to branch out and expand all that Aspen has to offer.

We are pleased to announce that Aspen Integrative Medical Center is now a family practice! Husband and wife duo Drs. Paul and Alexandra are now sole owners of Flagstaff’s premier naturopathic clinic!  

So what does the new ownership mean for our patients?

  • Our patients will continue to receive the exceptional naturopathic medical care they’ve grown to know, love, and trust at Aspen. In addition to continuing our current service offerings, Drs. Paul and Alexandra are bringing a fresh vision full of enthusiasm, energy, and lofty goals of making Aspen an even better home for healing. 
    • In 2024, we plan to:  
      • Start offering prolozone joint injections middle of June with Dr. Despres
      • Create new educational classes and programs
      • Open a non-profit branch of Aspen (non-profit name TBD), so we can offer our medical services on a sliding scale to the underserved of Flagstaff
      • Look to add other integrative healthcare providers to the team
  • Dr. Belt will continue seeing patients via telemedicine until end of July 2024 and at that point she’ll officially transition out of the practice. During this time she’ll suggest to you which of Aspen’s physicians will be the best fit for your health needs going forward.
  • Our amazing support staff of Jane and Sammantha are here to stay as your point of contact for all your health concerns, injections, and scheduling. Sammantha has been flexing her phlebotomy skills and taking on a larger role with the company.
  • Skylar Wilcoxson will continue to provide Neurogen Brain Balancing as one of the only neurofeedback trained practitioners in Flagstaff. This groundbreaking is used to treat a variety of mental health disorders including ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

Unrelated to the change in ownership, we have several other upcoming staff changes:

  • Dr. Jamie Flanery has taken an exciting new opportunity to open a new clinic down in the valley and will step away from Aspen on June 19th. We are very sad to see her go, but delighted at this amazing opportunity for her!
  • Nurse Lisa will be stepping away from in-office Aspen work at the end of May to focus on her quantum energy healing practice and doing at-home IV services for Aspen. We are close to hiring another highly skilled and compassionate nurse to take her place and take the lead of our IV therapy suite. 

With these changes we appreciate your continued support as we enter a new and exciting chapter at Aspen. We remain committed to serving all your integrative healing needs and helping you live your best life.
