Adjunctive Cancer Care
Integrative support alongside conventional care.
Naturopathic medicine is an excellent adjuvant to conventional cancer care because we provide holistic, individualized care to increase your vitality and improve your quality of life. For example, our physicians can lessen the adverse effects from chemotherapy and radiation, help you maintain healthy gut function, support a normal sleep cycle, optimize your nutrition, etc. At Aspen Integrative Medical Center, our physicians are here to help you at any stage you are in your healing process. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment and see what naturopathic medicine can do for you.
What to expect during an adjuvant cancer care appointment?
Our physicians offer an honest up-front discussion on what to expect from your care. We frequently involve family and loved ones, so everyone is part of the discussion. We then shift focus to your desired goals and what therapies can get you there. Our goal is to meet you where you are and help you feel more empowered in where you are heading.
Your treatment plan and goals will depend on which “cancer phase” you are in. Those four phase of cancer care are:
-
- Primary Prevention and Screening
- Diagnosis Through Active Therapy
- Recovery From Therapy
- Secondary Prevention
Note: If you are diagnosed with cancer, our naturopathic physicians can only see you if you have an oncologist on your care team for monitoring.

Cancer screening recommendations depend on your age, family history, genetics, and other factors. The screening may include an in-office physical examination, referral for imaging, or standard blood tests through your insurance.
