Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. As naturopathic physicians we view pain as important feedback that the body is under stress and healing is required to reinstate balance.
If you are suffering from joint pain and dysfunction, our goal is to help relieve your pain, improve mobility, reduce use of pharmaceuticals, and avoid the need for surgery.
Innovative approaches to relieve pain and heal faster from injury.
Healing Acute and Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is the #1 cause of morbidity and disability affecting over 100 million Americans. It increases risk of disability, insomnia, depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and suicide. Pain can be a challenging experience because it is frequently non-specific without any diagnosable dysfunction causing the symptoms. This can lead to your care team not taking your pain seriously or offering any hope for relief. At Aspen Integrative Medical Center, our physicians treat pain differently. We offer a whole person, natural care approach of innovative treatment options to relieve your pain and improve your quality of life. Depending on your condition we may prescribe deep tissue laser therapy, regenerative injections, IV therapies, craniosacral therapy, botanical medicine, and much more to help you get your life back. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment and get the pain relief you deserve.
What treatments are best for pain?
As naturopathic physicians, our goal is to limit the use of pain killers (opioids, ibuprofen, etc) due to potentially dangerous side effects on your health. The goal of treatment is not to just relieve your pain, but also resolve the underlying causes of your pain. For example, if you are having chronic shoulder pain, we may use botanical medicine to reduce your pain levels, but we also use deep tissue laser therapy to promote shoulder joint repair.
We commonly use these therapies to address acute and chronic pain:
-
- Deep tissue laser therapy
- Regenerative injections such as prolozone
- Craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation
- Mindfulness and guided imagery
- Dietary and lifestyle recommendations – nutrition, sleep, exercise, stretching, strengthening
- Botanical medicine
- Nutrient supplementation including anti-inflammatories
- Compounded medications like low dose naltrexone (LDN)
- Acupuncture and Chinese cupping
- Pharmaceuticals
- Medical marijuana
