VibePlate Therapy

Stimulate, strengthen, and heal with...

VibePlate Therapy

VibePlate therapy is the process of using “whole body vibration” for a variety of health benefits. It is primarily used to increase muscle strength, improve flexibility, and stimulate circulation; however, there are numerous other health benefits including stimulating lymphatic flow, increasing bone density, increasing hormone levels, and much more.

Dr. Despres at Aspen Integrative Medical Center likes to use VibePlate therapy to amplify the beneficial effects of other therapies such as antimicrobials, IV therapy, deep tissue laser therapy, infrared sauna, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Give our office a call today to learn more about VibePlate therapy and what it can do for you.

VibePlate therapy has a variety of health benefits, including:

    • Strengthens muscles
    • Stimulates lymphatic drainage
    • Activates the brain for healing and neuroplasticity
    • Increases circulation
    • Increases bone density
    • Improves balance, coordination, and posture
    • Improves hormone distribution
    • Burns fat
    • Helps your body produce more serotonin and less cortisol
    • Lowers inflammation
    • Decreases pain
    • Increases levels of human growth hormone and testosterone
    • Decreases levels of cortisol

Vibration therapy is helpful for a number of health conditions including:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Scoliosis
  • Poor muscle tone
  • Parkinson’s, ALS, Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Lymphedema, edema, and swelling
  • Chronic pain and fibromyalgia
  • Recovery from surgery
  • Arthritis

It is also helpful for improving recovery from physical activity, sports events, and just an overall active lifestyle.

VibePlate therapy is much more than a fad work out device.

Vibration plate technology was originally developed by NASA to give astronauts a way to retain muscle mass and bone density while in space. It has been adopted by the medical field as a viable treatment for a wide range of conditions in addition to enhancing physical fitness.

The VibePlate sends vibration through your body causing your muscles make slight contractions to keep your body steady. The VibePlate causes your muscles to contract 10 to 60 times a second and achieve firing up to 90% of your muscle fibers. Other forms of exercise only about fire ~40% of your muscle fibers.

The high levels of muscle contractions stimulates lymph glands leading to increased flow of lymph through out the body and a stronger immune system

It stimulates production of human growth hormone which helps repair and regeneration of damaged muscles, bones, and other tissues

Vibration at specific hertz will affect the entire body, but certain Hz will influence one area of the body/brain over the other.

The VibePlate machine can be set to specific frequencies (hertz) to stimulate specific health effects:

  • 10 Hz = mirrors your body’s natural resonance and stimulates the cerebellum
  • 11-15 Hz = supports sensory motor rhythm
  • 25 Hz = stimulates the spinal cord
  • 30 Hz = osteoporosis (10 minutes, 2x/wk, 6 months)
  • 31 Hz = reduce pain and strengthens midbrain
  • 35-40 Hz = best for exercise and muscle strengthening
  • 40 Hz = stimulates the cerebral cortex

VibePlate therapy is individualized for each person and your doctor will prescribe a specific plan to meet your health goals.

Treatment itself is rather simple. You will stand on the VibePlate for a specific length of time and vibration setting (Hertz). Treatment is often 5-15 minutes and may be done up to 3x/wk.

With any of the following issues, consult your physician first before using any vibration machine:

  • Recovering from surgery
  • Have serious cardiovascular disease
  • Pregnant
  • Thrombosis
  • Joint implants
  • Pulmonary embolism
  • Retinal condition
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Have a pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter defibrillators
  • Hip or knee replacement
  • Epilepsy
  • Tumors
  • Acute hernia recently replaced pins or plates
  • Severe migraine.

Because the VibePlate is much different than other vibration machines, we have had customers use the VibePlate for some of the above issues with no negative feedback. But we still ask you to consult your physician before using the VibePlate.
